Frozen concentrate cubes made from lemon, fresh turmeric, fresh ginger, and lemongrass — designed to be dropped into boiling water for an instant anti-inflammatory drink. The whole-fruit lemon adds more pectin and fiber than juice alone, and the combination of turmeric and ginger targets both digestion and immunity. Make a batch, freeze it, and you have two weeks of morning shots or teas ready to go.
Ingredients
- 3-4 lemons, cleaned and sliced into chunks
- 1.5 tablespoon fresh ginger (55g)
- 1.5 tablespoon fresh turmeric (55g)
- 3 stalks of lemongrass (60g)
- 1.5 cups of water or as needed
Instructions
- Blend the ingredients
- Pour into ice molds and freeze for atleast 3 hours
- Pour in boiling water, stir and serve
Notes
- When to use (by severity): these frozen cubes are a daily, preventive immunity-and-digestion drink — a convenient morning shot, not an acute remedy. When you're actively fighting a cold, reach for the stronger Kadha (Immunity Decoction) (immunity decoction) or a hot ginger tea; for a sore throat specifically, Cinnamon-Honey Tonic.
- Make-ahead: a batch of cubes keeps about two weeks in the freezer.
